FRANKLIN

Constance Ellen (Andrews) Eggers “Connie” died June 6, 2020, in Franklin, Indiana. She was born May 25, 1925 to Ellen Payne and R. Kenneth Andrews in Franklin, and except for a few years in Bedford, Indiana as a child and four years in Frankfort, Indiana as a new bride, she lived her whole life in Franklin.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1942, Franklin College in 1945 and Methodist Hospital’s Program for Medical Technology in 1947. She was married to Dr. John F. Beardsley in 1947 and had two sons, John F. Beardsley, Jr. (Beth), and Dr. Joseph A. Beardsley (Beth). In 1955 she married Charles W. “Todd” Eggers and had one son, Jeffrey C. Eggers (Barbara). She had a step-son, John Stewart Eggers and a baby daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Eggers who are both deceased. Marjorie Eggers, John’s widow, survives.

Connie said she was the most fortunate to live near her three sons in the Franklin area.

She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin. She served as a Sunday school teacher, leader for Pioneers (Jr. High) and Tuxis (Sr. High) youth groups, Deacon, Elder, and Commissioner to White Water Valley Presbytery. She sang in the church choir for over 50 years. While in college she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and later served as vice president and president of the Alumni Club. She served as vice Chairman of the Johnson County Republican Committee for 13 years and helped at the Interchurch Food Pantry for many years.

Connie said “I have really had a wonderful life. Oh, there have been sorrows, disappointments and illness, but on the whole, life has been good. I had wonderful parents, brother, Hugh, sister, Judy, grandparents, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.”

“School was great, college also, and I had a profession I loved in Medical Technology. I had two great husbands, four wonderful sons, and even a tiny daughter, but she was born too soon and only lived one month.”

“I’m now into my golden years and as I look back it has really been a full and rewarding life. So many of my family are gone and as I look at today I wonder if I am still here because there is something I still am supposed to accomplish.”

Connie’s grandchildren are Sarah Beardsley, Brian Beardsley, Jacqueline (Ben) Robison, Jennifer (Rick) Krohn, Carrie (Ben) Stolarz, Andrew (Alisha) Eggers and Kelly Blake. Great-grandchildren are Kevin Robison, Alexandra Robison, Grace Blake, Guinevere Krohn, Ryker Krohn, Anna Stolarz, Emilyn Stolarz and Aideyn Hamilton.

Connie loved the Lord and hopes you do too. Connie and her family thank the staff of Morning Pointe of Franklin for their wonderful and loving care.
