INDIANAPOLIS, IN.

Bobby D. Lawless, 85, of Indianapolis, IN arrived at his heavenly home Sunday August 2, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born on March 17, 1935 in Jamestown, Kentucky to his parents Clarence Earl Lawless and Ora Ann (Williams) Lawless.

Bobby married his “Sweetie” the late Allie Bea (Gross) Lawless on July 24, 1954 and celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Bobby was an employee of Von Duprin of Indianapolis, IN for 32 years where he was a machinist. He was also formerly employed at Fairmont Glass of Indianapolis, IN. Bobby was a member of Crosswalk Community Church of God and has been faithfully involved in the music ministry for decades.

It was the “Joy” of his life to sing for his Lord. He also served on the church council and many other positions throughout the years. Bobby also helped lead a ministry at Bethany Nursing Home in Indianapolis, IN for several years ministering in word and song to the residents there. He loved God and spent his life living for and faithfully serving his Lord Jesus Christ.

Bobby adored his family, old Westerns and the color blue and everybody knew it.

Survivors include his children Patty A. Christy of Morgantown, IN, Larry A. Lawless (Dawn) of Perry, MI, Rebecca J. Justice (Roderick) of Barboursville, WV and Roberta L. Scellato (Anthony) of Bargersville, IN; nine grandchildren Nathan, Ben, Lindsey, Gabe, Charles, Leah, Kendra, Gabby and Dominick; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brothers Lilbert Lawless of Indianapolis, IN, Rollin Lawless (Sharon) of Jamestown, KY, Herman Lawless (Jean) of Noblesville, IN, Phillip Lawless (Donita) of Harrah, OK; sisters Ina Higginbotham of Jamestown, KY, Gladys Fowler (Ollie) of Candler, NC, Barbara Jenkins (Randy) of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Allie B. (Gross) Lawless on March 29, 2020; two brothers Logan Lawless and Ray Lawless.

Pastors Tony Scellato, Rod Justice and Ted Conn will conduct a service on Friday August 7, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/bobby-lawless. Friends may call Friday August 7, 2020 from 12 noon till service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
