GREENWOOD
Mary Rose (Many) Anderson of Greenwood departed this life on August 20, 2020. She was born April 15, 1931 in Indianapolis to Julius J. Many and Mary Elizabeth (Cape) Many. She attended St. Patrick grade school and Sacred Heart High School.
She married Carl R. (Irish) Anderson, Jr. in 1948. They were married for 63 years and raised 5 children.
Rose was an excellent cook who loved hosting family parties that included many of her children, her 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was also an avid bowler, maintaining an average in the 190’s for many years, and she loved going to garage sales. For many years, Rose and Irish traveled in their RV visiting many states and far-flung relatives, sometimes taking some of the grandchildren along.
She is survived by daughters Libby Knight, Carla Gargas (Rich), and Gail Patterson, son Christian Anderson, daughters-in-law Colleen Anderson and Donna Anderson.
Chris and Colleen provided loving care for her final years, aided by Arlene Clark.
Her husband Irish and son Donald predeceased her, as did her siblings Bernard Many, Evelyn Marter Bault, Cleo Basinger, and James, Donald and Bruce Many. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on September 1, 2020, at Sts. Francis & Clare Catholic Church in Greenwood, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a catered lunch at noon. (Masks will be required indoors except while eating, and social distancing will be observed.)
