FRANKLIN
Doris A. (Ashbrook) Roy, 87, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 in Greenwood.
Doris was born on Saturday, February 4, 1933 in Wolf Creek Dam, Kentucky to the late Luther Ashbrook and Mittie (Young) Ashbrook.
Doris worked as a beautician at Shirley’s Beauty Salon for 24 years.
Doris had a natural talent for growing plants and devoted her time gardening, tending to her flowers, and beautifying her yard. She preferred to spend the cold winter months in the Florida sun where she would often go fishing. Doris loved her dog with all her heart, her life-long companion.
Doris is survived by her three children, Mike Stogsdill of Lewis, Donna (Joe) Gorman of Indianapolis, Jerry (Tammy) Stogsdill of Greenwood; seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Roy; three children, Robert Stogsdill, Diane Stogsdill, Carol Bolt; three brothers, Johnny Ashbrook, Doyle Ashbrook, Sandy Ashbrook; two sisters, Ruth Gosser and Maxine Haney.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Bible Baptist Church with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial to follow the funeral at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
