Terry Lee Jackson, 73, of Greenwood, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in Indianapolis, IN.
Terry was born on Thursday, May 8, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Andrew Jackson and Reva (Everetts) Chandler.
Terry married the love of his life, Terri (Doran) Jackson, on June, 26, 1986 in Johnson County. They were married for 34 wonderful years.
Terry was employed at Indianapolis Power & Light as a manager transportation supervisor for 45 years until his retirement in 2000.
Terry loved his community and dedicated himself to making it a better, safer place for his family, friends, and neighbors to call home. He served as a Sheriff Reserve for Johnson County, a Deputy Reserve for Whiteland Police Department, a Reserve for New Whiteland Police and Fire Departments, and a Judge for New Whiteland Town Court. Terry was also an advocate for the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program for foster care children. In addition to his extensive community involvement, he was a loving grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Terry was survived by his loving wife, Terri (Doran) Jackson, of Greenwood, IN; his children, Dana Jackson, of Indianapolis, IN, Brian Jackson, of Greenwood, IN, Tonya (Chad) McCormick-Snyder, of Zionsville, IN, Kelly (Wes) Smith, of Indianapolis, IN, Matthew Inabnitt, of Greenwood, IN; his sisters, Carol (Mike) Grimes, of Indianapolis, IN, Joy (Neal) Rose, of Texas, Sherry Mays, of Indianapolis, IN, Gayle Jackson, of Greenwood, IN; his brothers, David Chandler, Jay Jackson, Brett Jackson, Billy Jackson, all of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale Jackson; two sisters, Toni Massey and Andrea Jackson.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour.
