Master Sargent Mahlon “Hank” Baker USAF (Retired), passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his home to wait for the Lord and wait for the second coming of JESUS CHRIST. He was born 21 November 1931 at Sanborn, Indiana the son of the late Charles E. Baker and Della E. (Barnett) Baker.

Hank was a 21-year veteran of the US Air Force who served in Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Canada and at Air Bases in five different states.

Later he was a supervisor for Freight Companies and sold moving and storage for United Van Lines in Indianapolis and Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a Real Estate Principal Broker and did Heating & Air Conditioning work to support his Real Estate habit.

He attended services at Greenwood Christian Church. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Greenwood Masonic Lodge 514, Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post 5864, American Legion Post #252 in Greenwood, National Rifle Association, Air Force Sergeants Association and several veterans organizations.

He attended school several places in Indiana, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of IvyTech in Indianapolis.

Hank was preceded in death by his loving wife, Yukiko (Mikoshiba) Baker; and brother, Robert C. Baker.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda S. Baker; sons, Chief Master Sergeant Henry L. (Debbie) Baker USAF (Retired) and Charles V. (Sharon) Baker; grandchildren, Master Sergeant Beverly J. (Chris) Huntley USAF (Retired), Rhonda (John) Siira, Brittany A. Baker, Bridgett D. (Dustin) Belt, Tammy R. (Joe) Acker, Charles B. Baker, Jeffery A. Baker and John C. Baker; eleven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include, his step-mother, Loritha Boone; sisters, Joann Thomas, Charlene (Gary) Eischen and Betty (Curtis) Lucas; brother, Paul (Glenda) Baker; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, October 4, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis for visitation. A service will follow at 6 p.m. on Sunday with Pastor John Dunnaway officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, October 5 at 10 a.m. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood, with full military honors.
