COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Marcia L. (Ferger) McKenzie, 65, of Columbus, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Marcia was born on Sunday, April 3rd, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Hubert Ferger and Bonetha “Bonnie” Ferger.
Marcia was employed as a physical therapist assistant for 35 years. She dedicated her life to the betterment of others as a volunteer for both the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, protecting children who are victims of child abuse, and Indy Humane, whose mission is to improve animal welfare in central Indiana. Marcia enjoyed spending her leisure time traveling and swimming.
Marcia is survived by her two children, Richelle (Cody Renfro) McKenzie, of Texas, Jason (Patty Branch) McKenzie, of Columbus, Indiana; her sister, Charlene Ferger, of Oregon; her five grandchildren, Miranda Branch, Amanda Wright, both of Columbus, Indiana, Brad Sallee, of Iowa, Emily Raney, Michael Raney, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; five great-grandchildren. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to CASA and Indy Humane.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, October 4rd, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour.
