FRANKLIN, INDIANA
Martha Jean (Legan) Kincaid Williams, 100, of Franklin, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 in Franklin, Indiana.
Martha was born on Saturday, May 8th, 1920 in Winston County, Mississippi to the late Oscar A. Legan and Nellie E. (Freeman) Legan.
Martha married the late Clarence Williams in November of 1955, who preceded her in death on June 25th, 1998.
Martha was employed at Franklin United Methodist Home and worked as a nurse aid and in physical therapy. She was an active member of First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for more than 70 years and sang in the church choir for most of those years. Martha was a loving and dedicated mother whose joy in life was raising her ten children. Along with spending time with her family, she loved to garden.
Martha is survived by her five children; Robert (Sue) Kincaid, Shirley Knapp, Linda Kincaid, all of Franklin, Indiana, Sandra Bay, of Columbus, Indiana, Jerry (Melissa) Williams, of Trafalgar, Indiana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband; her six children, Larry D. Kincaid, Jimmy Williams, Billy Williams, Deanna Brock, Dwain Kincaid, Art Kincaid; her parents.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, Indiana. Visitation will be on Monday, October 5th, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel. Burial to follow the funeral on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required at all services and visitations.
