GREENWOOD, IN
Elizabeth Frances Tanner 86 of Greenwood, IN passed away Tuesday October 20, 2020 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN. She was born on April 16, 1934 in Somerset, KY.
Liz was known for her good cooking, her big heart and quick wittedness. She had a passion for cooking, canning with her good friend, Marion Richardt and attending Gospel music concerts. She enjoyed the fellowship of friends and family. She loved to cook and take food to family and friends during times of need.
She is survived by two sons Phillip Tanner and Orville “Sonny” Tanner (Sharon Niblett) both of Greenwood and a daughter that died at infancy Oletta Fay Tanner, three grandchildren Emma Tanner, Neal Tanner (Allison Lepper) and Kimberly Kersey (Chris) all of Greenwood, IN, four great grandchildren Cody Tanner, Hannah, Olivia Kersey and Addison Tanner, two sisters Doris Alvey of Greenwood, IN and Tina Franklin of Nancy, KY, many nieces and nephews. Other family members that preceded her in death were her mother and father Ida and Leeother Bray, sisters Ruby Jasper, Wyvonna Shockly, Phyllis Tucker, Vena Tucker and Stella Linsey, brothers Hershel, Ed Lee, James, Robert and Ernest Bray.
She had been a line assembler for Arvin Automotive in Franklin for many years.
She struggled for years with Dementia, she fought bravely until the end.
She touched many lives in many ways throughout her 86 years. Liz will be forever loved and missed by all.
A service will be conducted on Monday October 26, 2020 at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/elizabeth-tanner. Due to COVID-19 mandates facial coverings or mask are required for those attending. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
