Morgantown Road to close today; Noack Road construction delayed

A portion of Morgantown Road in White River Township will be closed today, and Noack Road in Whiteland is set to reopen in this evening.

Morgantown Road, just north of Olive Branch Road, will close from 9 a.m. into the afternoon, weather permitting. The road closure is so crews can place a dewatering well on the road, according to a news release from the Johnson County Highway Department.

The road will be closed to all traffic at the crossing. Local and emergency traffic can access Morgantown Road north and south of the site using a signed detour on Olive Branch, Runyon and Smith Valley roads.

Noack Road, between Rocklane and Stein roads, will reopen Wednesday evening as crews finish installing a storm sewer pipe. The road was supposed to reopen Monday after several days of construction, but was delayed, according to the county highway department.

Noack Road is closed at the storm sewer crossing. Local and emergency traffic can access either side of the closure. A signed detour route is at Rocklane, Acton and Stein roads.
