GREENWOOD
Frances Colleen (Sutherlin) Waddle, age 94, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Greenwood Village South. Born September 2, 1926 in Putnam County, IN, to the late James Earl & Viola Jo (Timmons) Sutherlin, she was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Indiana University.
In early years, she worked for Rand McNally and P.R. Mallory as a cartographer. When starting her family and raising the kids, she worked as a substitute teacher. She was a devoted wife and mother. An active longtime member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church, she loved gardening, bird watching, and playing golf.
She is loved and will be missed by her son, William C. (Varalakshmi) Waddle and her daughter, Susan J. Houchins; 6 grandchildren, Maggie, Neil, Eric, Veronica, Remington,and Jake; six great grandchildren, Abbigail, Jaylah, Veda, Jayda, Alex, Adelyn and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by best friend and love of her life, William Waddle and daughter Katherine Stark; and siblings, James Sutherlin, Elvin Sutherlin, Harry Sutherlin, Julian Sutherlin, Jeanette Toney, Joseph Sutherlin, William Sutherlin, Richard Sutherlin, Mildred Sitler, and Betty Carpenter.
Services will be private at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Online condolences, memories and photographs may be shared with the family at www.ghherrmann.com
