Erma Lucille (Johnson) Kitch, age 98, died on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at home in St. James, Missouri. She was a former longtime resident of Morgantown.

Erma was born January 31, 1922 in Owen County. Her parents were Louis Johnson and Rosa Belle (Casper) Johnson. She married Elbert Kitch on June 4, 1950 in Spencer. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1994. Erma was also preceded in death by three brothers, Merle, Arthur, and Elmer Johnson, and two sisters, Ruby Fulcher and Jessie Ford.

She is survived by her children, Susan (David) Thompson of Whiteland, Jane (Lynn) Huggins of St. James, MO, and Kevin (Carletta) Kitch of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Brooke (Angel) Fuentes, Brette (Keenan) Mack, Eric (Jennifer) Huggins, Karen (Craig) DeHut, Grady (Erin) Huggins, Andrew Huggins, Rob (Shannon) Kitch, and Kara (Kevin) Anderson; twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Erma retired from the First State Bank in Morgantown in 1992 after 25 years. She had also worked at World Products and the Owen County State Bank in Spencer.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in St. James, MO, and a former member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church, where Erma served as treasurer for several years. After she was widowed, she enjoyed outings with the Red Hat Ladies and going to the Morgantown Senior Center. Erma volunteered at the food bank in Morgantown.

Grady Huggins will conduct a graveside service at East Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25. There will be no calling hours. Those in attendance are asked to follow COVID protocols.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
