Hulon R. Simpson 94 of Franklin, IN and formerly of Bargersville, IN passed away Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin, IN. He was born June 29, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN to Otha Ray Simpson and Mary Frances (Kinnett) Simpson. He married Barbara Louise (Jameison) Simpson on February 21, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN, she preceded him in death on May 13, 1976. He was a United States Army Veteran of WW II in Company D, 1st Replacement Regiment and Army Ground Forces Replacement Depot Number Three. He had been head chef at St. Elmo Steak House in Indianapolis, IN for 27 years. He enjoyed camping, attending yard sales, flea markets, watching movies and especially spending time with family. Survivors include his children Sherry Anderson (Jim) of Mooresville, IN, Otha Simpson (Marsha) of Indianapolis, IN, Jan Miethe of Greencastle, IN, Jodi Perkins of Bargersville, IN, Leisha Simpson Buck (Kenny) of Franklin, IN, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Mabel Louise Simpson Webb on June 30, 2006, son in law Russell D. Perkins on February 16, 2009, brothers William Alonzo Simpson, Artis Simpson, Otha Lee Simpson, Charles Simpson, Johnny Simpson, Kenneth Simpson and Ralph Simpson, sisters Zelma Stansifer, Margaret Orange, Gloria Dean Diggs and infant Ruby Simpson. Due to current COVID-19 mandates, Pastor Dustin Hite will conduct a private family service at First Christian Church of Bargersville with burial to follow with military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard and the Greenwood ~ Whiteland American Legion Honor Guard at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN. The service will be available to view on Tuesday December 8, 2020 at 10 AM at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/hulon-simpson.
