FRANKLIN, IN.

Mary K. (Noblitt) Brown 81 of Franklin, IN passed away on Saturday January 16, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN after a struggle with leukemia. She was born July 21, 1939 on a farm in Waverly, Morgan County, Indiana Karl Wayne Noblitt and Elsie Leone (Lackey) Noblitt. She married Buz Brown on December 28, 1957, he preceded her in death on November 9, 1988. Mary K. graduated salutatorian from Union High School in 1957. She and her husband Buz Brown farmed in rural Johnson County and later moved to town. Mary K. was a Johnson County Sherriff’s Deputy and loved her Sheriffs family. She was an avid gardener and looked forward to spring and summer in her yard and gardens every year. She loved her dog Eddie whom she rescued from the Johnson County Humane Society. Mary K. was an excellent cook and enjoyed new recipes, canning and preserving. She loved to read and loved spending time on her patio with friends and family enjoying her beautiful garden. Survivors include her daughters Susan Carter of Franklin, IN and Sally Brown of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Bart Carter (Mallory), Denny Carter and Katy Bray, great grandson Brooks Carter, sisters Carole Graham (Mark) of Franklin, IN, Pat Trusty of Franklin, IN and Jim Noblitt (Vicki) of Franklin, IN and lifelong companion Jim Wyrick of Franklin, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Karl Wayne Noblitt and Elsie Leone (Lackey) Noblitt, husband Buz Brown, brothers Max Noblitt, Ted Noblitt and Bill Noblitt. A celebration of Mary K.’s life will take place at a later date this year when all can gather safely.
