NINEVEH

Marilou Ann Thompson (Catron), 70 of Nineveh, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021, surrounded by her family. Marilou was born in Indianapolis to the late, Raymond and Helen Catron on February 17, 1950.

She met the love of her life, Stanley Thompson while attending Indian Creek and after graduation in 1969, they got married on February 14, 1971, and soon had two children, Shelly and Steven.

Marilou, “mamaw” as so many referred to her as, loved her family and if she knew you, you were family. She loved to attend her kid’s and grandkid’s activities. If she was cheering for you she always made sure you knew it by being the loudest one there. Even during this past year with all of the restrictions, she would go and if she couldn’t she was watching it from home. Marilou enjoyed going to the beach, sitting in the sun even if it was just in the driveway so she could wave at everyone that drove by. (asking, who was that?) She enjoyed playing card games with anyone that would play and meeting once a month with her euchre club. She was an active member in Preceptor Beta Sigma, the Nineveh Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. During her downtime which wasn’t much, she would be calling everyone to see how things were going, making sure you had everything you needed, and volunteering at the church whenever she could. Her absolute greatest enjoyment was just spending time with family.

Marilou is proceeded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond and Dale Catron, along with several aunts and uncles.

Marilou is survived by her husband, Stanley; daughter, Shelly (John) Frazier; son, Steven (Sara) Thompson; grandchildren, Brittannee (Matt) Cain, Nicole (Trevor Adkins) Lowhorn, Clayton Frazier, Keeley (Ethan) Burgett, and Kurstin Thompson; great-granddaughter, Huxlee; and many cousins and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27th from 4 – 8 pm at Nineveh Christian Church with the funeral on Thursday, January 28th at 11 am. Burial to follow at Nineveh Cemetery.
