MARTINSVILLE, IN.

Steven Lee SeRine, 77, of Martinsville, IN, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born September 12, 1943 in Puyallup, Washington to Thomas Sherly SeRine and Wilma M. (Logan) SeRine. He married Suzanne Marie (Pontius) SeRine on July 29, 1967 in Galena, IL; she survives.

He was a United States Army Veteran of Korean and the Vietnam War. He had been Sous Chef at Franklin College for twelve years. He was a graduate of the Art Institute in Indianapolis, IN. Mr. SeRine was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, IN where he and his wife were members of the Dorman small group. He was also a member of Franklin American Legion Post 205, the Doberman Pinscher Club of Indiana, and the Doberman Club of America, and had served as an American Kennel Club judge. In his youth, he played baseball for the Cincinnati Reds Farm Team. He enjoyed and loved cooking, golfing, baseball, and showing and training Doberman Pinschers.

Survivors include his wife Suzanne Marie (Pontius) SeRine of Martinsville, IN, his son Zachary L. SeRine (Mary) of Westfield, IN, two grandchildren Ethan SeRine and Rowan SeRine, two sisters Julee SeRine and Carol SeRine both of Crossfield, TN, a brother Tim SeRine of Barrington, IL, and a sister-in-law Norette Mason (Edwin)of Carmel, IN, a neice Jessica Cossalter (Mason) of Minnesota, and a nephew Eric Mason of Carmel, IN.

He was preceded in death by his siblings; Thomas SeRine, David SeRine, Dennis SeRine, Rick SeRine and Shirley Custer.

Due to COVID-19 Mandates, Pastor Fred Meadows will conduct a service on Monday, February 15th, at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/steven-serine and where friends may call from 11AM till service time.
