Wilma (Marshall) Forsyth

Wilma (Marshall) Forsyth, 91, longtime resident of Nineveh and Trafalgar, Indiana, passed away on February 11, 2021 in Franklin, Indiana.

Wilma was born on January 27, 1930 to the late Jacob L. Marshall and Marjorie (Barrett) Marshall in Nineveh, Indiana.

Wilma married her late husband, James Robert “Jim Bob” Forsyth on August 14, 1948 at the Union Christian Church parsonage. Wilma and Jim Bob never had children of their own but they enjoyed helping raise their nieces and nephews: Randy Burton, Wayne Burton, Ronda (Burton) Tucker and Brandi (Barrett) Rund. Wilma loved children very much and was excited when her great-nephew Brady and great-niece Brianna came along. Wilma enjoyed coloring and playing Old Maid with them and taught them how to tie their shoes along with many other life-long lessons that they will forever cherish.

Wilma loved to stay active. She loved to play card games of all types, and never turned down a game of Euchre and always enjoyed being at the casino in hopes to win big. She also found great joy in cooking big meals for her family. Wilma especially enjoyed volunteering at Nineveh Christian Church helping with rummage sales and making apple butter in her younger years.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, and her late husband. She is survived by her two sisters; Juanita Burton, of Tennessee and Alice Stevens, of Trafalgar, Indiana.

Wilma will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Private family services will be conducted and she will be laid to rest at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, Indiana.

Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health’s mandate, all services and visitations are limited to 50 people or less as of February 1st, 2021. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times.
