James “Jim” Richard Bouillez, 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Meadows Manor North in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a resident of Compass Park at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.

He was born on December 26, 1924 in Fontanet, Indiana. He was the son of Arthur and Charlotte (Richards) Bouillez. He married Helen June Weinberg Bouillez on August 4, 1964. She preceded him in passing on September 28, 2014. He is survived by niece, Shirley Harper of Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was a graduate of Fontanet High School. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army.

Jim was employed by the Tribune-Star Publishing Company, retiring after forty-four years of dedicated service. He was a past president and secretary-treasurer of CWA 14446/ITU 76 Local Union.

He was a member of First Congregational Church. He was a Past Master of Devol Lodge No. 766 and St. Luke Lodge No. 761; member of Euclid Lodge No. 573; member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 43; Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite; Terre Haute Zorah Shrine; High Twelve No. 545; and the IMH National Soujourners No. 541. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 104; Hilltoppers RV Club and the Murat Shrine RV Club. Jim was also a member of the Disabled Veterans Chapter No. 9.

Jim was a seventeen year volunteer at Fowler Park Pioneer Village and was a volunteer wheelchair pusher at the IMH Medical Center for residents to attend entertainment activities. He was a life member of the Ambassadair Travel Club.

In 1993, Jim and Helen moved to Naples, Florida, where they resided until 2000, when they moved back to Franklin and have resided at the Indiana Masonic Home in the South Village.

Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a Celebration of Jim’s life on Monday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to time of service. A Masonic Service will be conducted on Monday by the Devol Lodge No. 766. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Terre Haute where military honors will be conducted.
