FRANKLIN
Linda Fay (Gunter) McCarthy 66 of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday April 22, 2021 at her residence.
She was born in Franklin, Indiana to the late Charles and Rosa (Mattingly) Gunter.
Linda enjoyed playing softball, volleyball, and spending time with her family. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family meant everything to her.
She met her husband Jack in Rantoul, IL while he was serving in the United States Air Force as a Fire and Air Rescue Instructor. They have been together 43 wonderful years and married 33 of those years. Linda and her husband had that special type of love that everyone dreams of having and movies are made of. When asked how to get that type of love she would simply say “He is my best friend.”
Linda was survived by her Best Friend and Husband John J. McCarthy of Franklin, IN, daughter Tammy Ballew (Carl McMurray) of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Chelsea Burton of Franklin, IN, Cassea Crawford of Whiteland, IN, Cole Ballew of Franklin, IN and Kaitlyn McMurray of Franklin. As well as her pride and joy great grandchildren Aubrey Smith, Emmalyn Crawford, and Gunnar Wagoner. Her sisters Maggie(Ray) Wuilliez of Virginia, Frances (Rocky) Cole of Florida, Kathy Allen of Lebanon, IN, Peggy(Rob) Grant of Whiteland, IN, Ruth(Kenny) Wilkins of Franklin, IN and Juanita Gunter of Greenwood, IN along with many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by Father Charles Gunter, Mother Rosa (Mattingly) Gunter and Sister Hazel Meece.
Services will be private.
