Grizzly Cubs knock off Pioneers

Max Clark was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Brodie Rinehold with the game-winner as Franklin walked off with a 3-2 victory over Mid-State Conference leader Mooresville on Wednesday. Clark and Grant Roberts both hit solo home runs for the Grizzly Cubs (11-4, 6-2).

Roncalli earns league win

Roncalli scored nine runs in the fourth inning to pull away for a 13-2 win against Covenant Christian. Dominic Brown and Dylan Craig each went 2 for 2 with a double in support of winning pitcher Andrew Baugh for the Royals (11-5, 7-0 Circle City).

Woodmen top Perry Meridian

Winning pitcher Taylor Dick struck out 10 as Greenwood defeated Perry Meridian on Wednesday, 5-2, to salvage a split of their Mid-State Conference series.

Grizzly Cubs come up short

For the second day in a row, Franklin suffered a 3-1 loss to unbeaten Mooresville. Maddie Hedges drove in Erin Lee for the Grizzly Cubs (9-5, 4-4 Mid-State).

Royals thump Flashes

Keagan Rothrock fanned 10 Franklin Central batters and got plenty of offensive support as Class 4A No. 1 Roncalli rolled to an 11-1 victory. Cate Lehner had 3 RBIs for the Royals (14-0), while Lyla Blackwell and Ally Walesky drove in two each and Abbie Hofmann scored three times.
