Junice Lee Moran

GREENWOOD, INDIANA

Junice Lee Moran, 83, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Junice was born on June 26, 1937 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to the late Marion and Lela (Burton) Moran.

Junice served on the Greenwood Police force for 22 years, retiring in 1978. He was a self-employed construction contractor, and retired from Teamsters Trucking. Junice had a strong work ethic and enjoyed working hard. He also liked singing karaoke and watching the nightly news.

Junice is survived by his son, Robert “Bob” Moran of Needham, IN; two siblings, his sister, Charlene Benchmer of Shelbyville, IN and his brother, Dale Moran of Greenwood, IN; three grandchildren, Shaun Moran, Amanda Velez, and Nick Velez; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Moran and HeavenLee Moran, and his son-in-law, John Velez of Nineveh, IN.

Junice was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ruby Moran, his second wife, Jeanette Moran, two children, Mike Moran and Donna Velez, and a brother, Arnold Moran.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 1:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Junice will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.

Per Jessen Funeral Home, social distancing regulations are recommended with guests maintaining a minimum of 6-feet apart from one another. Masks are required when requested by the family. No food is permitted at this time.
