Greenwood expands truck ban to portions of Honey Creek, Smokey Row roads

The Greenwood City Council expanded the city’s truck ban to include portions of Honey Creek and Smokey Row roads on Monday night.

The council voted unanimously to ban trucks from travelling north on Honey Creek Road, from Whiteland Road to Tracy Road, and on Smokey Row Road, from State Road 135 to Honey Creek Road. The only exception is for local deliveries, according to city documents.

Both Honey Creek and Smokey Row roads are narrow, two-lane roads. There are alternative roads that are better for trucks, city documents show.
