Jerry M Pruitt, of Bargersville, died peacefully in his sleep on August 18, 2021. He was born June 26, 1946, to Harlan and Daisy Pruitt of Indianapolis. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deborah; daughters Christy (Eddy) Lowhorn of Franklin, Amanda Pruitt of Bargersville; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Kyle Lowhorn; four great-granddaughters, London, Maci, Kinsleigh, and Wrenley; and a large extended family. A private service and cremation to follow.

Jerry graduated in 1965 from Harry E Wood HS where he played football and sang in the choir, an award-winning mixed ensemble, and an awesome quartet. After graduation he went to work for Eli Lilly and remained there until his early retirement in December, 1998. Jerry and his wife traveled the world during their retirement years, from the Highlands of Scotland to the beaches of Fiji. Always a big fan of many sports, he was a Colt’s season ticket holder for 34 years. Jerry still lived in the house he and Debbie built in 1974, where he was an avid gardener and proud caretaker of the property. Those who knew him and loved him will miss his big laugh and jovial manner. Jerry was a friend to many, beloved “Papaw” and one of the truly Good Guys. He leaves sad hearts and a million precious memories.
