WHITELAND, INDIANA

Bill R. Williams, 88, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Bill was born on May 7, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lester and Mildred (Neely) Williams.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army and later worked as an electrician for the Indianapolis Public School Board for forty years until his retirement in 1995. He was a devout member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and was active in The Knights of Columbus. Bill had a compassion for others and found joy in volunteering at church festivals and helping anyone in need of electrical work. He loved spending time with his loved ones at family gatherings and always looked forward to watching his grandkids’ sporting events. In his spare time, one could often find Bill gardening, fishing, or watching his favorite football team, The Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Bill is survived by his five children, William H. Williams of Whiteland, IN, Dan (Vicki) Williams of Greenwood, IN, Scott (Kim) Williams of Avon, IN, Shawn (Paul) Leighton and Lora (Todd) Casbon, both of Greenwood, IN; his eleven grandchildren, Kyle Williams, Evan Williams, Jake Williams, Zach Vandagrifft, Amber Acker, Karlie Scardine, Haley Payne, Kyler Casbon, Brianne Leighton, Maggie McCorkle, and Nichole Leighton; his great-grandson, Greyson Williams; his two sisters, Mary Pfau of Indianapolis, IN and Carole Boardman of North Carolina.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Williams; his parents, Lester and Mildred Williams; his siblings, Harry Williams, John Williams, Forrest Williams, Roger Williams, Betty Willman, and Katherine Wiltsee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 3:30pm at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church in Greenwood, Indiana with visitation from 2:30pm until the service hour.
