Carolyn Sue Wessel

Carolyn Sue (Link) Wessel of Franklin, Indiana joined her late husband, James Paul Wessel in heaven on December 19th, 2021. She was born on October 4th, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her parents were Agnes (Link) Bair, Lloyd E. Link and John M. Bair. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lawton H. Link. Carolyn and Jim were high school sweethearts and married on December 24th, 1955. They owned a real estate business and insurance business in Greenwood, Wessel Insurance, for several years.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Paul) Cook, and her son, James (Tammy) Wessel, grandchildren Mickey (Scott) Luttrell, Paul (Anne) Cook, Kellie Cook, Kevin (Kara) Cook, and Michael (Beatrice) Wessel, as well as seven great grandchildren.

Carolyn enjoyed singing in her church choir as well as singing with the choral group The Spotlight Singers. She was an avid reader, loved creating stained glass masterpieces, and working on jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sports, dance, and other extracurricular activities.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December, 27th at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory Greenwood Chapel located at 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Ceremony to follow at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Johnson County Public Library-Franklin Branch in memory of Carolyn and her love of reading.
