Alec Michael Cunningham

GREENWOOD

Alec Michael Cunningham, 24, of Greenwood, IN passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. He was born February 17, 1998, in Indianapolis, IN. Alec loved growing up in Nineveh, IN where he attended Indian Creek Schools. Alec, his precious son Ezra, and his girlfriend Alexa had recently moved to Jacksonville, NC where Alec worked as a Controls and Balance Technician for RFL Solutions supporting the HVAC units on the military base.

Alec loved all things sports and video games! He played football, basketball, and golf as a youngster and easily mastered the latest and greatest games in the video world. He was so looking forward to sharing this love with his son.

Alec’s family was very important to him. He took care of his mother, Laura, as she battled Multiple Sclerosis, carrying her many, many miles. She precedes him in death. His grandmother was one of his greatest encouragements, and he had a very close relationship with his brothers, cousins, aunts, and uncles. However, the greatest love of his life was his son, Ezra.

Although Alec carried many burdens in his short life, he believed in Jesus Christ and was learning to trust in Him! What a glorious day it must have been to be welcomed into the gates of heaven and greeted by so many loved ones.

Alec is survived by his son, Ezra Michael and girlfriend Alexa Grimes of New Palestine, IN; his two brothers Clay Baker (Jordyn) of Indianapolis, IN and Michael Cunningham of Franklin, IN; father Jason Cunningham of Nineveh, IN; maternal grandmother Mary Jane Howlett of Greenwood, IN; maternal grandfather Mike Harmon (Sandy) of Greenville, IN; paternal grandparents Pam and Larry Mann of Franklin, IN and many extended family and friends.

Alec was preceded in death by his mother Laura Harmon Cunningham; maternal grandfather Doug Howlett; maternal great-grandparents Hubert & Lola Stark and Cecil & Gracie Harmon; and paternal great-grandparents Jack and Phyllis Rinehart.
