Crowe honored by national HOF

Ray Crowe, a 1934 Whiteland High School graduate, will become the first Indiana basketball coach to be inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame. Crowe, who gained notoriety for leading Crispus Attucks to two state championships — making it the first Black high school in the country to win an open title — will be inducted posthumously in July.

Honored as a Sagamore of the Wabash in 1991, Crowe had an elementary school named for him in Whiteland last year.
