Softball

Warriors throttle Franklin

Class 4A No. 9 Whiteland stormed its way to a 22-6 win at Franklin on Wednesday. Emma Piercy and Tara Watson each had four hits for the Warriors (9-0, 5-0 Mid-State), while Debbie Hill, Trinity Borders and Josslyn Harbert had three hits apiece and combined for 10 RBIs.

Braves bitten late on road

Brown County got a walkoff three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to hand Indian Creek an 8-5 defeat. Emily Todor had a pair of doubles for the Braves (1-7, 0-4 WIC).

Lancers come up short

North Decatur scored 10 sixth-inning runs to doom Edinburgh to an 11-1 loss. Gracie Crawhorn had the lone RBI for the Lancers (4-5, 2-2 Mid-Hoosier), while Kyah Streeval had a pair of hits.

Creek dominates Brown County

Indian Creek took advantage of 12 Brown County errors, rolling to an 18-0 victory on Wednesday. Winning pitcher Carter Modlin allowed just two hits for the Braves (6-5, 3-1 WIC).

Girls tennis

Edinburgh falls to Eagles

Bethany Burton pulled out a three-set victory at first singles, but Edinburgh wound up on the wrong end of a 4-1 score against Brown County on Wednesday.

Warriors edged by Quakers

Whiteland lost a Mid-State Conference battle to Plainfield, 3-2. Candace Stephenson was a winner at third singles for the Warriors (4-2), while Kinsey Shipp and Cathy Nguyen prevailed in three sets at No. 1 doubles.
