Franklin College

Baseball finishes atop HCAC

Franklin College clinched its first HCAC regular-season championship since 2018 by sweeping its Saturday doubleheader with Hanover, 9-6 and 11-6. AJ Sanders, Logan Demkovich and Case Starkey each homered in the nightcap for the Grizzlies (28-12, 13-5), who will begin conference tournament play in Kokomo on Thursday as the top seed.

Softball falls in league tourney

Top-seeded Transylvania rallied with two runs in the sixth to edge Franklin College, 7-6, in an HCAC tournament elimination game. Rayvn McClaren had three hits for the Grizzlies (21-19), while Sydney Bostic drove in a pair of runs.

Trojans tie for 13th

Third-ranked Center Grove faced a challenging field in Saturday’s State Preview at Prairie View, tying for 13th with a score of 339. Drew Hardin and Brady Schier paced the Trojans with respective rounds of 81 and 82.

Franklin was 20th with a 367.
