Girls tennis

Braves knock off Warriors

Indian Creek pulled out a 3-2 home win over Whiteland on Thursday. Emilee Scott and Olivia Perry were victorious at No. 1 doubles for the Braves (13-3), while Avery Burress and Addy Tunell won in the second doubles spot and Lauren Foster picked up a point at first singles. The Warriors (11-7) got wins from Candace Stephenson and Ella Proctor at second and third singles, respectively.

Edinburgh sweeps Lutheran

Straight-set victories across the board allowed Edinburgh to beat Indianapolis Lutheran, 5-0. Bethany Burton, Jessica Walsh and Peyton Bryant were singles winners for the Lancers, while Alyssa Funkhouser and Jillian Turner took their match at No. 1 doubles and Zoey Sida and Gracie Myers won in the No. 2 position.

Warriors edge Cardinals

Will Davis medaled with a 33 to lead Whiteland to a narrow 156-159 triumph over Southport. Evan Meece shot a 40 for the Warriors, who also got a 41 from Braydon Paterek and a 42 from Dylan Gross.

Lancers fall to Owls

Six errors cost Edinburgh in an 11-1 loss at Seymour on Thursday. Gracie Crawhorn doubled home Kyah Streeval with the lone run for the Lancers (9-9).

Royals shut out Guerin

Keagan Rothrock pitched a perfect game, striking out 20 batters, as Class 4A No. 1 Roncalli defeated Guerin Catholic on Wednesday, 3-0. Abbey Hofmann and Cate Lehner each had two hits and a pair of stolen bases for the Royals (21-0).
