Whiteland gave up 11 first-inning runs and never recovered in a 13-3 loss at Class 4A No. 2 Mooresville on Wednesday. Peyton Emberton and Julian Prescott drove in runs for the Warriors (10-14, 5-9 Mid-State).

Grizzly Cubs edge Cougars

Franklin won a three-way match with Greenwood Christian and Plainfield at Deer Creek on Wednesday, edging the runner-up Cougars by a slim 164-165 margin. Jake Lock shot a 39 to lead the Grizzly Cubs, while Will McGuinness added a 41 and Reid Davidson and Luke Bechert each finished at 42.

Trojans defeat Pioneers

Led by Drew Rowen’s 35, Center Grove earned a 151-165 triumph over Mooresville on Tuesday. Nate Olson carded a 38 for the Trojans, while Luke Beetz and Drew Hardin each shot 39.
