Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday at 2 a.m. The return to standard time means you’ll turn the clocks back one hour more to sleep.

The time change will remain in effect until March 12, 2023 at 2 a.m.

Daylight Saving Time has been in effect since the 1960s, but remains controversial. The states of Hawaii and Arizona don’t change their clocks, and neither do U.S. territories Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.

A bill to end the time change passed the U.S. Senate in March, but remains stalled, as the U.S. House of Representatives hasn’t decided how to proceed with the issue yet.

U.S. Representative Frank Pallone, a New Jersey Democrat who chairs the Energy and Commerce Committee that has jurisdiction over the issue, told Reuters the House is still trying to figure out how to move forward.

“We haven’t been able to find consensus in the House on this yet. There are a broad variety of opinions about whether to keep the status quo, to move to a permanent time and if so, what time that should be,” Pallone said.

Some of the debate in the House is whether to adopt permanent standard time or permanent Daylight Saving Time, he told Reuters.
