COLUMBUS
Odeta M. Crippen, 66, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born March 26, 1956, in Columbus, the daughter of James and Grace Lane Chinn.
Odeta retired from Walmart and she enjoyed reading, flower gardening, crafts and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Misty (Branden) Shultz of Columbus, Micah Crippen of Columbus, Nikita (Josh) Newman of Florida and Ethan Crippen of Columbus; three grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Chinn of Hope and a sister, Kay (Tim) Coomer of Hope.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Chinn; mother, Grace Barkes and her first husband, David Parkes.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating.
A time of visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to time of service.
In keeping with the Odeta’s wishes, cremation will take place.
