Leadership Johnson County hosting February workshop on change

A Leadership Johnson County — Women in Leadership workshop set for February will explore both personal and professional change and will equip participants with the tools and techniques to lead change in any capacity or position.

This series will be on Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Compass Park.

Session one: “Navigating Personal Change” by Kris Taylor. In this session, you will learn to use and apply a power transition model to better understand your personal change profile and use that knowledge in future situations.

Session two: “Tangible Leadership Actions for Successful Change” also by Kris Taylor. Building on the work done in the earlier sessions, you will sharpen your skills in this critical area for the teams you lead and work with.

Session three: “Working Through Change Resistance” by Carolyn Goerner. In this session it will focus on three main reasons people resist change 1. Logical/rational beliefs 2. Psychological and emotional fears 3. Pressure from others to maintain the status quo.

Session four: “The Change Game” by Carolyn Goerner and Sheri Walter. It will focus on a fully interactive simulation, where you will learn to appreciate the perspectives of both leaders and followers in a change initiative, communicate key perspectives and ideas when emotions run high and articulate a clear vision and process for change.
