Morgantown man died in fatal crash Wednesday in Franklin

A Morgantown man was fatally injured in a single-car accident in Franklin on Wednesday.

Kane A. Grudowski, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, said Duane Burgess, Johnson County sheriff.

The accident was reported sometime at around 7:49 p.m. in the 700 block of Hospital Road, just east of County Road 50 East. Johnson County deputies determined the truck Grudowski was driving left the roadway on the north side of the road, got back on the road, and then left the road again on the south side, according to the sheriff’s office accident report.

The second time, the vehicle rolled over, collided with a tree and eventually came to stop next to a bridge, the report says.

The impact of the crash killed Grudowski, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force traumatic injuries, that were sustained because of the motor vehicle accident, said Mike Pruitt, Johnson County coroner.

Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office, along with Franklin Police and Franklin Fire Departments responded to the crash.
