A Trafalgar woman died following an accident that occurred Friday afternoon.
On Friday at approximately 3:42 p.m. first responders were called to a two-vehicle accident at State Road 135 and County Road 500 West/Spearsville Road in Trafalgar. All three people involved in the accident were injured and transported to Indianapolis hospitals and Mary K. Gossage, 79 of Trafalgar, has since passed away from her injuries.
Information gathered by Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene indicates a Morgantown 16-year-old was turning left from State Road 135 westbound onto Spearsville Road when he struck a vehicle that was traveling east on State Road 135. The 16-year-old said he didn’t see the vehicle before attempting the turn, according to a press release from Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Both Gossage and her husband, Hugh K. Gossage, 79 of Trafalgar, were transported to Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The 16-year-old was transported to Riley Children’s Hospital in serious condition, according to a Facebook post from Trafalgar Fire Department.
The sheriff’s office, Trafalgar police and fire departments and Bargersville Community Fire Department responded to the accident.
