Braves get past Lancers

Indian Creek and Edinburgh were locked in a scoreless tie for six innings before the Braves broke through for three runs in the seventh to claim a 3-0 road win on Monday. Amelia Woodke got Indian Creek (3-7) on the board with an RBI single and then scored on a two-run homer by Jasmine Day. Freshman pitcher Delaney Jones earned the win by tossing a one-hit shutout, striking out 13. MacKenzie Bieker took the hard-luck loss for the Lancers (6-6), allowing five hits and a walk while fanning nine.

Grizzly Cubs rout Eagles

Corin Dammeier drove in six runs to help power Franklin to a 20-3 shellacking of Brown County. Adeline Blackwell was a perfect 5 for 5 in the win for the Grizzly Cubs (9-4), while Annabelle Richter added a home run in support of winning pitcher Ellie Chumbley.

Creek sweeps Owen Valley

Indian Creek posted a 5-0 home win against Owen Valley on Monday. Lauren Lewis, Reese Tunell and Kylie Lemmon all won their singles matches in straight sets for the Braves (7-3, 4-2 WIC), while the No. 1 doubles team of Olivia Perry and Addy Tunell and the No. 2 duo of Lanie Swanson and Alexa Sichting each rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Edinburgh clipped by Lions

A three-set battle at first doubles proved the difference as Rushville escaped with a 3-2 win over Edinburgh. The Lancers’ points came from Jessica Walsh at No. 1 singles and the team of Lily Turner and Mia Dodson at second doubles.

Lancers take three-way match

Max Blandford’s 35 was good for medalist honors and helped Edinburgh to beat both Brown County and Waldron with a team score of 173. Mason Calhoun shot 43 and Wyatt Burton 45 for the Lancers.
