A man is doing OK after accidentally shot himself in the leg in Franklin Thursday morning.
Franklin police were called to Taco Bell, 1579 N. Morton St., around 5:17 a.m. on a report of a person shot. Emergency dispatchers told police a 911 caller said an employee accidentally shot himself in the leg, according to a Franklin Police Department report.
Medics, along with the deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and officers from Franklin police arrived on the scene to tend to the man. He was taken to an area hospital, and was awake and conscious when he was transported, the report says.
The man is doing well at the hospital, Franklin Police Chief Kirby Cochran said.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and more information was not immediately available.
