The Franklin Lions Club encourages graduating seniors at Franklin and Whiteland high schools to apply for the $2,000 Loyd Hensley Service Award by its May 17 deadline. The recipient may use the grant for tuition and/or books at a four-year, two-year, or technical institution of higher education.
Applicants must be actively involved in the community and attain a GPA of at least 3.0. They must submit a list of school and community service and a three-paragraph essay. They may also include recommendations with their application.
Students must submit their applications through their high school’s guidance director.
Winners will receive their award at a Lions Club meeting in June.
