GREENWOOD
Carol Ann Myers, 86, of Greenwood passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2023. She was born on April 18th, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William George and Minnie F. Thiel.
Carol graduated from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1958 and went on to work various nursing jobs over the years. She retired in 1993 from St Francis Hospital in Beech Grove after 20 years of service.
Carol met and married the love of her life, Alvin (Rex) Myers in May of 1960. Together they enjoyed camping and traveling all over the United States in their RV. Rex preceded her in death shortly after celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering and socializing with her many friends; especially the Keenagers.
In her spare time, Carol enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing BINGO and loving on her children and grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her children, Ann Marie Clute and James Alvin Myers; three grandchildren, Debbie Cavendish (Matthew), Sydney Walter (Kyle) and Lauren Derebery (Ray); three great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn L. Thiel; and brother, William G. Thiel Jr (Rosemary).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 9:30-11:00am at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 355 Meridian St., Greenwood, IN., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at 2:30pm at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis. Arrangements have been entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home.
