INDIANAPOLIS
Ronald Edward Warweg “PaPaw Ron”, 85 of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN after a battle with cancer.
Ron was born March 21, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN. His parents were Donald F. and LaVerne L. (Moneymaker) Warweg. He married Vicki L. (Harmon) Warweg on September 1, 1962, in Indianapolis, IN, she preceded him in death on October 21, 2007.
Ron was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis where he was a talented draftsman. Shortly after graduation, he began his career in the fire sprinkler industry.
He worked in the fire sprinkler industry for many companies through the years including Culligan Fire Protection, Automatic Sprinkler, R.E. Griesemer, J.A. House, Grunau, Brown Sprinkler, as well as others. After retiring from the fire sprinkler industry, he worked with his son Chad at Warweg & Company Irrigation for twenty-five years where he became known for doing whatever he could to help Chad and his team out!
Ron was a great man who cherished his friends and family more than anything. He was an avid hot rodder his entire life and had more cars through the years than one could count! He enjoyed all things sports and never missed one of Chad’s high school or college games nor those of Cole and Quinn. He made friends wherever he went and didn’t know a stranger and was known to keep everyone listening to one of his awesome, detailed stories, much like his wife Vicki. We are comforted to know that he is now with his lord and savior and in a new, healthy body.
Chad, Julie, Cole and Quinn would like to thank all of the staff at Franciscan Hospital and Home Health for lovingly helping us care for Dad the past few months. We would also like to thank Dr. Capes, Betsy and staff for their compassionate treatment of Dad throughout the years. We are so grateful for all of you!
Survivors include his three sons Jeff L. Warweg (Nikki Pace) of Martinsville, IN, Todd E. Warweg of Indianapolis, IN and Chad M. Warweg (Julie List) of Indianapolis, IN, six grandchildren Brandon Warweg of Indianapolis, Bradley Warweg of Indianapolis, Dalton Warweg of Bloomington, Christian Warweg of Bloomington, Cole Warweg (fiancé Jade Murray) of Greenwood and Quinn Warweg of Indianapolis, and great grandchildren.
Pastor Seth Amerine will conduct a service on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 4PM until service time at the mortuary. The family request all that wish, and especially his hot rod car friends, to gather Wednesday, June 21, 2023, by 9:15AM at the mortuary for a funeral procession for a graveside service at 10AM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery 734 North Morgantown Road in Greenwood, IN. The family also encourages any of his hot rod friends to bring their cars to the viewing on Tuesday to honor Ron.
