Linda C. (Fill) Moore

New Whiteland

Linda C. (Fill) Moore, 84 of New Whiteland, IN passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 12, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN to Chester Frank Fill and Edna Malinda (Wichman) Fill. She married Elvis “Bud” E. Moore on June 1, 1968, at the Whiteland United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death on January 15, 2016.

Linda was a member of Hurricane Community Church in Franklin, IN. She worked for Whiteland Community Schools for over 20 years. She retired in 2000 to care for her grandchildren. Her love and care for children extended beyond her own family to include the school and neighborhood children. She was a lifelong seamstress, making clothes for her children, quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, doll clothes, crafts and did alterations for many. She enjoyed book clubs and Bible studies, and faithfully prayed for family, friends and neighbors. She lived her life confident of God’s love and care for her which contributed to a life of joy and peace.

Survivors include her children Shari Gray (Terry) of Fort Collins, CO, Jennifer Lee (Ron) of Indianapolis, IN, Kenny Moore (Amy) of New Whiteland, IN and Beth Wright (Jason) of Thorntown, IN; eleven grandchildren Jeremy Gray, Ariel Gray (Phil Brown), Rebekah Ooms (Josh), Rachel Colo (Eliseo), Ana Yaw (Miles), Jonathan Lee, David Lee, Jackson Moore, Landon Moore, Emily Wright and Josh Wright; nine great grandchildren Lucas Colo, Astrid Colo, Emilia Colo, Marcela Colo, Noah Ooms, Elizabeth Ooms, Henry Yaw, Maddox Yaw, Emmeline Yaw and two sisters Nancy Elaine Fill of Greenwood, IN and Mary Beth Moeller of Greenwood, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Pastor Dan McLaughlin will conduct a service on Saturday July 8, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4PM until 7PM at the mortuary. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
