Free recovery webinar Friday for tornado-impacted businesses

The U.S. Small Business Administration will host a free recovery webinar on Friday for businesses affected by severe storms in March and April.

The free, one-hour webinar will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, and is done in partnership with the Indiana Small Business Development Center’s Southeast Indiana office in Columbus. The webinar will offer information on SBA’s working capital loans and technical and counseling services by the Indiana SBDC, according to a SBA news release.

Businesses and private non-profit organizations in the declared disaster counties are encouraged to participate in the free event to learn how working capital loans can be used to pay normal operating expenses like rent, utilities, wages, and other financial obligations, SBA officials say.

Business owners can register for the webinar at isbdc.org/training-education/. They can also call 812-379-4457 for more information.

Applicants may apply for the SBA’s working capital loans online via SBA’s secure website at disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/ under SBA declaration #17882, officials say.

Disaster loan information and forms may be obtained by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955, or by sending an email to [email protected]. Loan application forms can be downloaded from the SBA’s website at sba.gov/disaster.

Completed applications should be mailed to U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

The deadline to return an SBA application for financial losses (Economic Injury Disaster Loan) is Jan. 15, 2024.
