Grizzly Cubs sweep Falcons

Franklin grabbed the inside track in the Mid-State Conference title race with a 25-16, 25-11, 25-12 victory over Perry Meridian on Tuesday. Rose Mahin led the attack with 12 kills for the Grizzly Cubs (6-0, 3-0), while Kennedy Urban had 30 assists, Maggie Doty served four aces and Kate Pinnick pulled up 11 digs.

Warriors top Hawks in three

Whiteland rallied from a 24-17 deficit in the opening set and went on to a 27-25, 25-11, 25-9 sweep of Decatur Central. The Warriors improve to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-State with the win.

Center Grove defeats Carmel

Class 4A No. 10 Center Grove completed a clean sweep of Carmel, posting a 25-18, 25-23, 25-23 road win.

Lancers felled by Twisters

Edinburgh suffered a 25-20, 25-23, 25-16 setback against Oldenburg Academy. Kenna Streeval (eight kills, 17 digs) and MacKenzie Bieker (seven kills, 22 digs) led the way for the Lancers in defeat.

Shepherd continues strong play

Center Grove alum Erica Shepherd put herself in a strong position to advance into the next stage of the LPGA’s qualifying process, shooting a 3-under-par 69 for the second day in a row. Shepherd sits three strokes off the lead in a tie for 12th place; the top 125 and ties after today’s third round will survive the cut for Thursday’s fourth and final round of Stage I.

Trojans edge Bulldogs

Lexi Stuart shot a 35 to share medalist honors and lead No. 3 Center Grove to a 152-158 triumph over 11th-ranked Batesville at Hickory Stick on Tuesday. Camille Short added a 38 for the Trojans, followed by Ellie Adkisson at 39 and London Dodson at 40.

Braves split three-way

Indian Creek beat South Putnam but lost a tiebreaker against Edgewood. Shelby Roach led the Braves with a 52, followed by Emily Hogue at 54.

Braves pull out another win

Indian Creek’s hot start continued Tuesday with another narrow conference victory, this one a 3-2 home win over Edgewood. The Braves (9-0, 5-0 WIC) swept the doubles action, with Trent Volz and Landon Sichting winning at No. 1 and Mason Frische and Nick Winters cruising in the second spot. Grant Dalton was a winner at second singles.

Whiteland blanks Decatur

No. 17 Whiteland shut out conference foe Decatur Central, 5-0. Spencer Gillespie, Carson Baumann and Jeremiah Hurt swept the singles points for the Warriors (7-1, 3-0 Mid-State), while Kai and Chase Koester won at No. 1 doubles and the team of Gavin Stubbe and Isaac Phegley came out on top at No. 2.

Woodmen topple Pioneers

Greenwood earned a 4-1 win over Mooresville, with Noah Paswater, Carter Chatham and Ian Ratliff pulling off a clean sweep of the singles points; Chatham’s victory came in three sets. Will Davidson and Dominic Soubeih added a point at first doubles for the Woodmen (7-2, 2-1 Mid-State).
