Evelyn M. (Green) Hardin

FRANKLIN, IN.

Evelyn M. (Green) Hardin, 87 of Franklin, IN passed away Sunday September 3, 2023, at Morning Pointe in Franklin, IN.

She was born July 9, 1936, in Genesse, Michigan to Joseph and Della Pearl (Eastridge) Green. She married Stanley K. Hardin on September 4, 1955, at First Baptist Church in Franklin, IN; he preceded her in death on February 13, 2014.

Evelyn attended grade school at Union Township Grade School and was a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School.

Her first job while in high school was at Fertigs Ice Cream Parlor in Franklin. She retired after twenty-two and a half years of service at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was also a loving homemaker.

Evelyn enjoyed reading and especially religious novels, cooking and trying new recipes, craft work and pencil art. Her greatest achievement was being a mother and wife. She also enjoyed listening to the Gaithers and Dr. Charles Stanley. Evelyn always enjoyed family get togethers on holidays and cookouts.

Survivors include her son Ronald L. Hardin of Franklin, IN, two grandchildren Jason Hardin (Montana) of Indianapolis, IN and Sarah Hardin Ferguson of Clayton, IN, four great grandchildren Rianna Ferguson, June Ferguson, Natalie Ferguson and Adeleine Hardin, her sister Ruth Westcott of Franklin, IN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David K. Hardin on May 6, 2013, her brother George Green on April 11, 1997, sisters Elizabeth Henninger on March 19, 2016, and Pauline Clem on May 20, 2021.

Reverend Homer Ford will conduct a service on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4PM until 7PM at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
