Kylie McGovern was medalist with a 41, leading Whiteland to a narrow 198-203 win over Greenwood on Monday. Chloe Cooper (47), Karley Hoagland (52) and Emma Gunn (58) rounded out the scoring for the Warriors.
Grizzly Cubs edge Quakers
Ninth-ranked Franklin pulled out a 161-169 victory over Plainfield on Monday at Deer Creek. Lexi Ray led the Grizzly Cubs with a 37, followed by Reese Phillips at 39. Addie Livorno carded a 42, while Addi Bright and Cassidy Rucker each shot 43.
Trojans cruise past Falcons
London Dodson was the medalist with a 2-under-par 33 as No. 3 Center Grove rolled to a 154-211 win over Perry Meridian at Winding River on Monday. Maren Pfeifle and Amanda Wallace each finished at 40 for the Trojans, while Zoe Land added a 41.
Lancers take second in MHC
Edinburgh finished just four strokes back of Southwestern in Saturday’s Mid-Hoosier Conference tournament, falling by a 444-448 margin. The Lancers did have the top two individual finishers, as Izzy Richardson led the way with an 86 and Macie Blandford carded a 98.
Boys tennis
Braves blank South Putnam
Indian Creek did not drop a single game in its 5-0 shellacking of South Putnam on Monday. Peyton Strunk, Grant Dalton and Aaron Spurgeon swept the singles points for the Braves (12-2, 7-1 WIC), while Trent Volz and Landon Sichting won at first doubles.
Lancers swept by Owls
Edinburgh lost to Seymour on Monday, 5-0, with all five matches being decided in straight sets.
Warriors win THN tourney
Whiteland claimed the top spot at the Terre Haute North Invitational on Saturday, dropping just one point while sweeping Southport, Terre Haute South and the host school. Spencer Gillespie and Carson Baumann each collected two singles victories for the Warriors (9-3) and teamed up for a doubles win as well. Jeremiah Hurt was also 2-0 in singles play, while Chase and Kai Koester were perfect in doubles action.
Woodmen take two of three
Greenwood won two of its three matches to finish second at the Lebanon Invitational on Saturday. Noah Paswater was perfect on the day for the Woodmen (12-5), winning in straight sets three times at No. 1 singles. Carter Chatham added a pair of wins at second singles.

Trojans top Tigers in four
Class 4A No. 8 Center Grove earned a 25-23, 25-17, 19-25, 25-18 win against Fishers on Monday.
Edinburgh falls in three sets
Edinburgh suffered a 25-19, 25-19, 25-14 loss to North Decatur on Monday. MacKenzie Bieker and Zoey Sida had seven kills apiece for the Lancers, with Bieker adding a team-high 14 digs.
Cross country
Dowty shines at Brown County
Indian Creek sophomore Libby Dowty placed second overall in a stacked field at the Eagle Classic in Brown County on Saturday, posting a blistering time of 17:11.5 to finish less than six seconds back of the lead in the Elite division. The Braves finished 17th in the team standings. Center Grove led the local squads with a ninth-place showing, paced by Marissa Pogue in 33rd; Franklin was 18th as a team, with Lauren Klem crossing the line 25th individually.
In the boys varsity race, Isiah Tunis led the way with a 13th-place individual finish as Franklin placed fifth out of 20 teams.
Whiteland girls win invitational
Tori Jackson was the top individual finisher, leading the host Warrior girls to victory in the Whiteland Invitational on Saturday. Lena Shipp was fifth for the Warriors, with Isabella Fuentes close behind in sixth. On the boys side, Nolan Edens took sixth overall and Matthew Nino was 10th to help Whiteland to a second-place team finish.

Warriors drub Cardinals
Emma Gill collected three goals and an assist to lead Whiteland past Southport, 5-0, on Monday. Rhianna Hardy and Madison Fleury added single goals for the Warriors (5-2-1), with Alexa LaPorte contributing an assist.
Cougars top Braves at home
Greenwood Christian broke in its new field with a 5-1 triumph over Indian Creek on Saturday. Izzy Cameron scored two goals and added two assists to become the school’s career assist leader, while Norah Herndon also scored a pair of goals and Ana Blow tallied one for the Cougars.
Trojans fall against Knights
Madi Kramer scored off a Jenna Margiotti assist, but Center Grove suffered a 3-1 setback against Class 3A No. 3 Castle on Saturday.
Franklin College
Women’s soccer stays unbeaten
Makenna Mundy made seven saves to post her second consecutive shutout as Franklin College came away with a 0-0 tie at Spalding on Sunday. The Grizzlies (1-0-3) close a four-game road trip at Trine on Wednesday.
Men’s soccer salvages draw
Dany Escamilla’s goal in the final minute of regulation allowed Franklin College to pull out a 2-2 tie with Denison at home on Monday evening. Eddy Yousak scored the Grizzlies’ other goal in the first half.
On Saturday, the Grizzlies (0-3-1) came out on the losing end of a 2-0 score at Illinois Tech despite eight saves from Ian Rowe.
Cross country competes at Hanover
Franklin College had a strong outing at the Hanover Invitational on Saturday, with the men finishing second and the women fourth in the team standings. John Asplund (fourth), Sam Wilson (sixth) and Jack Sells (eighth) were all top-10 individual finishers for the Grizzly men, while Haley Makowski paced the women with a 10th-place effort.
Volleyball swept at Berea
Franklin College dropped a pair of three-set sweeps at the Berea Invitational on Saturday, losing to the host squad and Baldwin-Wallace. Hope Moring had 15 kills and McKenzie Schroeder 13 on the day for the Grizzlies (2-4).
Men’s tennis salvages split
After taking a 9-0 loss to Trine, Franklin College balanced its weekend ledger with a 5-4 win over Webster on Saturday. Nathan Jarboe, Owen Pickerill and Marcus Cox had singles victories for the Grizzlies, who also got doubles points from Lucas Densford and Ezra Schwier at No. 2 and Jarboe and Shay Kyser at No. 3.
Women’s tennis drops a pair
Franklin College lost 9-0 to Trine and 8-1 to Webster on Saturday. Maecee Terhune had the Grizzlies’ lone point on the day, winning at second singles.
Women’s golf opens at Hanover
Sarah Cooper and Esther Etherington carded rounds of 84 as the Franklin College women opened the fall season with a one-day team score of 366 at the Hanover Fall Classic on Saturday. The Grizzlies did not place as a team after not playing in Friday’s first round.
Indian Creek graduate Hannah Emenhiser had a top-20 individual finish for Anderson, finishing the weekend at 83-81—164.
