Greenwood comprehensive plan community workshop set for today

Greenwood residents can give their input on the city’s vision for expansions and revitalization for the next 20 years later today.

The city of Greenwood is creating a new comprehensive plan, which will guide development and growth in the city for the next 10 to 20 years. Officials are planning to hold an in-person community workshop next week where residents have a chance to learn more about the update process, give feedback and ask city officials questions.

The workshop will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in Community Rooms A/B at the Greenwood Public Library, 310 S. Meridian St. The workshop will be in an open house format with brief presentations at 5 and 6 p.m., city officials say.

Residents can also start giving feedback through an online workshop at PlanGreenwood.com. The workshop consists of:

  • Community Workshop Survey: An online survey for residents, business owners and visitors to provide anonymous input on how they believe the city has been successful and where it may need to improve in the future.
  • Map Social: An interactive map where residents and visitors can provide geographic-specific input and comments about the community’s future. It will remain open through the end of summer and into late fall.

Both the survey and the map can be accessed by going to PlanGreenwood.com/GetInvolved. More information about the comprehensive plan can be found at PlanGreenwood.com
