Girls soccer

Whiteland shuts out Cougars

Addison Emberton posted her fourth consecutive shutout as Whiteland rolled to a 5-0 win over Greenwood Christian on Thursday. Madison Fleury, Bethany Floyd, Ava Fagan and Alexa LaPorte each scored a goal for the Warriors (7-2-1).

Trojans nip Marauders

Jenna Margiotti scored a pair of goals and Kylie Smith added another as Center Grove slipped past Mt. Vernon, 3-2, on Wednesday night.

Volleyball

Edinburgh grounds Eagles

Kenna Streeval paced a balanced Edinburgh squad with eight kills and 14 digs in a 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 sweep of Brown County on Thursday. Zoey Sida had seven kills and 14 digs for the Lancers, MacKenzie Bieker had six kills, six blocks and 18 digs and Kyah Streeval passed out 34 assists.

Center Grove wins in five

Class 4A No. 8 Center Grove rallied for a 10-25, 25-19, 18-25, 27-25, 15-9 triumph at Brebeuf Jesuit.

Girls golf

Warriors take out Braves

Whiteland used a balanced lineup to top Indian Creek, 193-209, on Thursday. Kylie McGovern was the medalist at 47 for the Warriors, followed by a 48 from Chloe Cooper and 49s from Karley Hoagland and Emma Gunn.

Lancers win three-way

Edinburgh shot a season-low 208 to beat Southwestern by one stroke and comfortable defeat North Decatur. Macie Blandfore was medalist with a 44 for the Lancers, with Izzy Richardson close behind at 46. Sophia Pace shot a personal-best 58.

Boys tennis

Grizzly Cubs sweep Artesians

Franklin posted a 5-0 shutout of Martinsville on Thursday. Tyler Jones and Brady Tucker were a three-set winner at first doubles, Luke Sherry and Jaxson Doddridge won in two at No. 2 doubles and the singles trio of Reid Davidson, Nathan Neville and Chase Alyea claimed their respective matches in straight sets.

Warriors drub Falcons

No. 20 Whiteland coasted past Perry Meridian, 5-0, winning three matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. The doubles pairings of Kai and Chase Koester (No. 1) and Gavin Stubbe and Isaac Phegley (No. 2) won love matches, as did No. 2 singles player Carson Baumann. Spencer Gillespie and Jeremiah hurt also won points in straight sets for the Warriors (13-3).

Lancers fall to Lutheran

Edinburgh suffered a 4-1 setback against Indianapolis Lutheran, with the Lancers’ lone point coming via a 6-2, 6-1 victory from Austin Brockman at first singles.

Braves lose to Shelbyville

Despite a 6-3, 6-1 win from Peyton Strunk at No. 1 singles, Indian Creek was beaten by Shelbyville, 4-1. The Braves, who dropped a pair of three-set matches, fell to 13-3 on the season.

Boys soccer

Woodmen beaten by Quakers

Greenwood came away with a 5-0 home loss against Plainfield on Thursday.
