Braves fall in sectional final

Indian Creek played three consecutive games Saturday at the Mooresville Sectional, beating Greenwood 46-34 and defeating the host Pioneers, 39-24, before coming up short in a 60-45 shootout against Franklin Central in the championship game. The Flashes had reached the final with a 59-28 victory over Franklin.

Warriors eliminated in first round

Whiteland’s season came to an end with a 7-0 setback against Franklin Central in the opening round of the Class 3A Columbus North Sectional on Monday night. The Warriors finish the year with a 2-13-2 record.

Trojans split Saturday pair

Class 4A No. 6 Center Grove defeated Noblesville on Saturday 25-15, 20-25, 25-16, 25-21 but lost to No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern 25-18, 25-10, 25-12. Franklin also lost to the top-ranked Royals in three sets before going the full five sets with the Millers in a 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-13, 15-10 setback.

Royals win Marion County crown

Dropping just one set across four matches, Class 4A No. 4 Roncalli wrapped up aMarion County tournament championship with a three-set sweep of North Central on Saturday. Logan Bell had 20 kills and 10 digs in the title match for the Royals.

Men’s soccer dismantles Lions

Franklin College got two goals in each half en route to a dominating 4-0 victory at Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. Dany Escamilla, Kameron Donald, Theo Sasso and Jon Moore each found the net for the Grizzlies (3-5-2, 2-0 HCAC).

Women’s soccer suffers road loss

Franklin College fell behind early and couldn’t recover in a 3-0 loss at Mount St. Joseph. The Grizzlies fell to 1-5-5 overall and 0-1-1 in HCAC play with the defeat.
