Greenwood seeking business partners for sports park

The city of Greenwood is looking for local businesses to be partners at the new sports park on the city’s east side.

The Greenwood Sports Park is offering several partnership opportunities for businesses ranging from naming rights to banner displays to engage with a diverse audience of residents and visitors. The park will be a state-of-the-art baseball/softball facility inclusive of eight fully-lit diamonds, all with artificial turf infields and natural grass outfields. It will also host the city’s second splash pad, a multi-use playing field with a cricket pitch and a multi-use trail system throughout, a city spokesperson said.

Officials say the park will help grow youth and adult programs extensively as a result of the new fields. Local and regional tournament directors will be able to host weekend events there as well.

The economic impact of these programs and events will be “a valuable opportunity” for Greenwood businesses as they will bring thousands of visitors to the park each year, the spokesperson said. They encourage all interested businesses to become a part of Greenwood Sports Park’s legacy by giving back to the community in a way that benefits everyone, the spokesperson said.
